Welcome new Baggetts

Say hello to Jackson Confer and Imani Finkley!

Welcome to our two new Baggett Fellows, Jackson Confer and Imani Finkley. Jackson comes to us from UC Santa Cruz with a BA in Linguistics, a classmate of Sadie's. He is interested in syntax and morphology, and has some experience with experimental work in phonetics and psycholinguistics. Aron and Masha will be his main mentor for the Baggett year. Imani has a BA from Cornell Universty, where she majored in English with minors in Computer Science and Comparative Literature and an interest in machine learning and LLMs. Imani aims to use speech technology to help understand and teach low-resource languages, and will be mentored this year by Naomi.
